标题: [china:] Call for Sponsorship for Fashion Show, 100th Special Edition and 5th Anniversary Celebration Party

Dear All,

If you have lived in NC longer than 5 years, you will have experienced the history of the China Star.  It has evolved from a 12 page monthly issue to a 32 page bi-weekly newspaper.  Most importantly is that the quality and contents of the present 32 pages is the culmination of the 5 years of our experience intertwined with the NC Chinese Community.  Everybody in the China Star team strives their best for every issue.  This is the reason that the China Star has become more readable and popular “越来越好看了” (so I have been told by many people).  We always try our best to make it “越来越好看”.  So we always feel we must do better.

This Year is very special for the China Star.  During this year, besides supporting and being deeply involved with most of the local events, the China Star also

1. Issued English pages
2. Together with several local organizations, co-hosted the First Fashion Contest.  The Final Fashion T-Stage Contest and Award Ceremony will be held on Oct. 25, 2008.  Please login at http://www.chinastaronline.com/shownews.asp?news_id=3842 for more details.
3. Issued its 100^th Special Edition.  In this issue, we will summarize and provide an overview of the growing history of the Chinese Community.  You will see many different perspectives.  It would be worthwhile to keep a copy.  Extra copies will be printed for a longer period distribution.
4. Will have its 5^th Anniversary Gathering Party.  We will have all of our supporters and advertisers present along with our honest readers to get together to share the mission of the China Star……

The China Star is a privately held newspaper.  As you all know, many newspapers serve for political interests with some political funding, or perhaps with some commercial purpose funded by a powerful company.  The China Star serves all of the NC Chinese speaking population without any funding from any organizations or government with the exception of paid advertising by those within our community.  This makes the China Star’s survival a challenge in our limited population community.  The positive thing is that we have received strong support and comfort from a lot of Chinese organizations and individuals during these 5 years.  The China Star team has been especially giving since they are driven to do this great service from their heart for their contribution to the community rather than through self-interest.  With all of your support and help, we will continue to serve the community with all of our heart and passion.  

At this moment, we specially ask for your sponsorship or generous whether you represent an organization or are a reader.  Any of following would be welcome and appreciated,  

1. Join the China Star team to contribute your talent and your time to this great service for the community.
2. Write and submit articles about your life, your living tips, your opinions, and your feedback to the China Star.
3. It is highly recommended that you provide your feedback to the China Star.  We will choose some for publishing in the 100^th edition. The deadline is Oct. 12^th.  The submission can be as short as one sentence, but no longer as 100 words. Please sign it with your name, city, and profession.
4. Donate or sponsor any of events which we are organizing.
